Marty Harper

Marty is CEO and President of the ASU Law Group. He brings over 40 years of litigation and law firm management experience to this unique non-profit firm. Marty is tasked with building and managing the Law Group, and is dedicated to its mission to train recent graduates from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law how to practice law well while providing quality legal services to clients who need legal services at affordable rates.

In the fall of 1970, Marty entered the ASU College of Law after serving more than five years in the U.S. Army. During his service, Marty was stationed in Europe, Vietnam and several bases stateside. He was a Captain when he resigned his commission.

Beginning in 1973, Marty joined Lewis and Roca and practiced there for 24 years. Thereafter, he helped several firms, including, Polsinelli start and build full service practices in Arizona.

Throughout his legal career, Marty has been involved in building and managing law firms. At various times, he was a practice group leader, office managing partner and a member of various firm executive committees and boards of directors.

In his 40 years of practice Marty has represented a wide range of entities in a diverse array of large complex civil litigation matters. He is an AV® peer reviewed litigator who has been included in Best Lawyers in America for his experience in Commercial Litigation, Construction and Labor and Employment Law, and is recognized as a “bet the company” litigator.
